By James Ogunnaike, Abeokuta
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Federal Commissioner representing Ogun State at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Hon. Akeem Akintayo Amosun, has congratulated Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, and Governor Dapo Abiodun on their emergence as the party’s governorship and Ogun East Senatorial candidates respectively in the just concluded APC primaries in Ogun State.
Amosun described the outcome of the primaries as a victory for democracy, party unity and the collective interest of the APC, noting that the exercise further strengthened the confidence of party members ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
According to him, the massive turnout of party faithful across the state during the primaries reflected the trust and belief reposed in the leadership of the APC.
“True political victory is not only about winning elections, but about strengthening democracy, respecting party supremacy, and keeping faith with the people,” Amosun stated.
While congratulating Senator Adeola on his emergence as the APC governorship candidate, Amosun described him as a committed and experienced politician with strong grassroots appeal and a track record of service.
He also hailed Governor Abiodun for clinching the APC senatorial ticket for Ogun East Senatorial District, saying the development underscored the confidence party members have in his leadership capacity and political experience.
The APC stalwart stressed that the decision of the party remained supreme and binding on all loyal members, urging aspirants and supporters to close ranks and work together for the success of the party in the coming elections.
“The party is above every individual interest. Once the party has spoken through a democratic process, all members must respect and support the decision for the overall progress and victory of the APC,” he said.
Amosun further called on party faithful to sustain the spirit of sportsmanship, mutual respect and cooperation that characterised the primary election process across the state.
He commended party leaders, stakeholders, electoral committee members, INEC officials and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful, transparent and credible exercise.
According to him, the peaceful atmosphere witnessed during the primaries reflected the political maturity of APC members and their commitment to preserving the unity and progress of the party in Ogun State.
He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged continuous support towards strengthening the party and advancing democratic governance in Ogun State and the country at large.
