Rangers International F.C. etched their name further into Nigerian football history after defeating Ikorodu City F.C. 2-1 to claim a record-equalling ninth Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL title.
Captain Chidiebere Nwobodo scored once in each half to hand the Flying Antelopes a crucial victory and secure the championship ahead of closest challengers Rivers United F.C..
The home side pulled one back in the 58th minute through substitute Moses Ali after Rangers goalkeeper Lucky Jimoh failed to properly deal with a long-range effort.

The triumph marks coach Fidelis Ilechukwuâs second league title with the Enugu-based club and sees Rangers equal the all-time NPFL championship record held by regional rivals Enyimba F.C..
Following their title success, Rangers will represent Nigeria in next seasonâs CAF Champions League alongside runners-up Rivers United.
