Soludo swears in 22 SEC members
Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra, on Monday, swore in 18 commissioners, in addition to four other appointees as members of the State Executive Council.
The brief ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Awka.
The list of the new commissioners and their portfolios includes Mr Ben Odoemena (Agriculture), Mr Chukwukadibia Okoye (Budget and Economic Planning), Mr Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism), and Dr Ekene Ogugua (Education).
Others are Dr Clem Aguiyi (Environment), Dr Afam Obidike (Health), Dr Law Mefor (Information and Value Reorientation), Prof. Offornze Amucheazi (SAN) (Lands), and Vin. Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs).
Also on the list are Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources), Mr Chijioke Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development), Mr Casmir Agummadu (Power), Mr Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure), and Mr Eddy Ibuzo (Transport).
The rest includes Mrs Esther Onyekesi (Women Affairs and Social Development), Mr Patrick Agha (Youth Development and Sports), Mr Henry Arinze (Housing), and Mr Nonso Ebonwu (Commerce).
The governor also swore in Mr Emeka Okonkwo, as the Managing Director, Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency, and Dr Ossy Onuko, the Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority.
He also inaugurated Mr Fred Agbata as the Managing Director, Information Communication Technology Agency, and Mr Obi Okonkwo, the Managing Director, Bureau of Public Procurement.
He described the appointments as “a call to service, sacrifice and accountability”, and urged them to focus squarely on governance.
The governor admonished them to know that their decisions and actions would directly affect millions of residents across the state.
He also charged the new officials to manage their ministries and agencies with prudence, teamwork and commitment to delivering on the administration’s development agenda.
