APC Outreach Sparks Outrage as Oyo Residents Chant Support After Semovita Giveaway

A clip showing residents of Oyo State chanting in support of the All Progressives Congress after receiving sachets of Semovita at a political outreach event has sparked reactions on social media.

The footage, which circulated on social media on Tuesday, showed residents holding 1kg sachets of semovita while declaring support for APC 2027. Some of those featured were heard chanting “Jagaban 2027.”

The clip drew widespread criticism online, with many users expressing concern over poverty and political manipulation.

One commenter wrote: “They just sold themselves for less than 4,000 naira. My God.” Another said: “You no fit understand this country. May God heal us.

Weaponizing poverty is the only method our politicians have at their disposal.” A third user added: “Blame it on poverty. And the person giving that insult knows about it.

And he will continue to keep them there in their poverty.” Another commenter wrote: “Chai! Seeing this kind of thing shatters my heart. Why can’t Nigerians learn for once?”
