The Chairman of the North West Development Commission, NWDC, Hon. Lawal Sama’ila Abdullahi Yakawada, has felicitated the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, on his 60th birthday, describing the monarch’s reign as a beacon of stability, unity and progress.
In a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, June 8, 2026, Yakawada, who also holds the traditional title of Dan’iyan Atyaf, said the milestone was “not merely a celebration of age, but a tribute to a life devoted to service, leadership, wisdom, and the advancement of society.”
The NWDC Chairman commended Emir Bamalli for exemplifying the finest qualities of traditional leadership through purposeful guidance, promotion of peace and harmony, and preservation of the cherished values and traditions of the Zazzau Emirate.
“Your reign continues to stand as a beacon of stability, unity, and progress. Through your exemplary leadership, you have strengthened the bonds between communities, promoted peaceful coexistence, and inspired confidence in the enduring relevance of traditional institutions in addressing contemporary challenges,” he stated.
As Chairman of the NWDC, Yakawada said he deeply appreciates the indispensable role of traditional and religious institutions in shaping a peaceful, prosperous and resilient region. He pledged to strengthen collaboration with the Emir and other traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders across the Northwest.
He listed insecurity, poverty, youth unemployment, educational deficits, and infrastructure gaps as key challenges facing the region, adding that addressing them requires “unity of purpose, collective wisdom, and shared responsibility.”
“Together, we can build a Northwest that is more secure, economically vibrant, socially cohesive, and full of opportunities for future generations,” Yakawada said.
The NWDC Chairman prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the Emir continued good health, wisdom, strength, and many more years of impactful leadership in service of humanity.
“Happy 60th Birthday, Your Royal Highness. May your reign continue to be blessed with peace, progress, and prosperity,” the statement concluded.
