Uba, Akpabio, Bamidele lead APC campaign council

The All Progressives Congress has announced plans to inaugurate its National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State governorship election, with Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani set to chair the council tasked with driving the party’s campaign and mobilisation efforts ahead of the poll.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced in a statement on Monday that the party’s National Campaign Council, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio serving as co-chairman, will be inaugurated on Wednesday in Abuja.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed June 20, 2026, for the conduct of the Ekiti State governorship election.

Morka said the inauguration marks a key step in the party’s efforts to commence statewide mobilisation in Ekiti ahead of the governorship election, with the aim of securing victory at the polls.

The statement read, “The All Progressives Congress will formally inaugurate its National Campaign Council for the forthcoming Ekiti State Governorship Election as follows:

Date: Wednesday, June 10, 2026; venue: Kashim Shettima Hall, Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Time: 12 noon.

“The National Campaign Council, chaired by Governor Uba Sani, has the President of the Senate, Godswill Obot Akpabio, as Co-Chairman, and Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele as Secretary.

“The council, comprised of serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other eminent party leaders, is tasked with coordinating and driving the party’s campaign activities ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election.

“To ensure effective planning and campaign coordination, various subcommittees have been constituted to lead the party’s activities in key areas, including Election Planning and Management; Finance and Resource Mobilisation; Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation; Logistics and Campaign Management; Protocol; Media and Publicity; Security; Women’s Mobilisation; Youth Mobilisation; and Secretariat Functions.”
