Wike Vows to Demolish Illegal Structures in Abuja as He Assumes Office as FCT Minister

Nyesom Wike, who assumed the role of FCT minister earlier this week, has already initiated plans to rejuvenate the city’s master plan. During his inaugural press briefing, he emphasized his commitment to optimizing land usage.

Wike made it clear that individuals who had obtained Certificates of Occupancy for land but had not made any developmental progress would forfeit their claims. This step, he explained, aims to create opportunities for those enthusiastic about constructing on their allotted plots.

He candidly stated, “Properties that have been erected in prohibited zones will be subject to corrective measures.”
