Tinubu asks senate to substantiate Kekere-Ekun as substantive CJN

President Bola Tinubu has requested the senate to substantiate Kudirat Kekere-Ekun because the substantive chief justice of Nigeria (CJN).

The president’s request was contained in a letter learn by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on the ground of the higher legislative chamber on Tuesday.

Kekere-Ekun has been within the workplace in performing capability since August following the retirement of Olukayode Ariwoola as CJN. The president had sworn her into the workplace in performing capability.

Tinubu premised his request on 231(1) of the structure.

“Pursuant to 231(1) of the structure of the federal republic of Nigeria of 1999 as amended which supplies the ability to the president powers to nominate the chief justice of Nigeria (CJN) on the advice of the Nationwide Judicial Fee (NJC) and topic to affirmation of the Nigerian senate,” the primary citizen mentioned.
