PDP, NNPP conflict over Osun gov’s reelection bid

The Osun State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party has vowed to unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke within the 2026 governorship election, drawing criticism from the Peoples Democratic Party.

The NNPP made its intentions identified in the course of the inauguration of its places of work in Ila, Boripe, and Ifelodun Native Authorities Areas on Thursday.

Talking on the occasion in Ila, Osun NNPP Chairman, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, expressed optimism in regards to the social gathering’s prospects within the subsequent election, citing dissatisfaction with the present administration and the financial challenges dealing with the nation.

Reacting to the NNPP’s assertion, the Osun PDP dismissed the claims as mere rhetoric, asserting that Governor Adeleke’s achievements would safe his reelection.

Talking to The PidomNigeria, the PDP Director of Media and Publicity, Oladele Bamiji, stated, “The NNPP’s assertions are baseless and pushed by the necessity to please their sponsors.

“They lack the capability to cease Senator Ademola Adeleke’s reelection in 2026. The folks of Osun are witnessing unprecedented progress underneath this administration, and no social gathering can derail this momentum. They need to save their assets and power.”
