Sanwo-Olu, Pernod Ricard to unveil eco-friendly tree

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will unveil an eco-friendly Christmas tree constructed from upcycled bottles as a part of efforts to advertise sustainability and environmental consciousness.

In an announcement on Friday, wine firm Pernod Ricard Nigeria which created the tree stated it will likely be unveiled on the Ikeja Metropolis Mall automotive park on December 21, 2024.

Pernod Ricard dubbed the construction as “Lagos Upcycled Bottle Christmas Tree,” and famous it used about 2,500 empty Jameson bottles to create a festive show beneath the theme ‘Sustainability Meets Festivity.’

The initiative is designed to spotlight the significance of round economies whereas fostering neighborhood engagement.

Pernod Ricard Nigeria’s Managing Director, Michael Ehindero, described the challenge as a mix of artwork and duty, noting “The initiative seeks to advertise sustainability and environmental consciousness, showcasing inventive re-use of supplies to foster neighborhood engagement and social duty.”

The winemaker added the 12-day activation accompanying the revealing will align with the “Twelve Days of Christmas,” underscoring the corporate’s dedication to inspiring younger Nigerians towards sustainable practices.

Ehindero additional defined that the partnership with Lagos State displays Sanwo-Olu’s imaginative and prescient for sustainable growth and a round economic system.

“This collaboration stems from Governor Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to selling a round economic system, which strongly aligns with Pernod Ricard Nigeria’s Sustainability and Duty Roadmap,” he declared.
