IMAN decries alleged importers harassment

The Importers Affiliation of Nigeria has decried unauthorised operations involving unlawful arrests, harassment, extortion, and intimidation of importers throughout the nation.

IMAN, in an announcement by its Nationwide President, Kingsley Chikezie, famous that it issued the ban to guard importers from “unscrupulous people within the guise of working with IMAN permission.”

In line with Chikezie, “All IMAN operations are actually centralised and should be authorised in writing by the Director-Basic of the IMAN Particular Taskforce, DIG Philemon Leha (retd.).”

The affiliation emphasised that the choice was made to curb the lack of income to each IMAN and the federal authorities brought on by unauthorised actions.
