EDC, Mastercard Foundation assist female-led agro corporations

To foster innovation inside the agricultural worth chain and create new alternatives for younger feminine entrepreneurs, the Enterprise Improvement Centre of Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, in collaboration with Mastercard Foundation and GEN Nigeria, has strengthened the Agro-Hack Problem initiative by rewarding twelve female-led agro corporations in Nigeria.

On the not too long ago concluded fifth version of the Agro-Hack Problem, held on the EDC workplace, All Inexperienced Restricted emerged as the general winner, receiving a grand prize of N1m. Wonderful Farm Gate secured second place with a money prize of N750,000, whereas Vickey Goshen Eco Farm took third place, incomes N500,000. Moreover, 9 different collaborating corporations had been awarded N100,000 every.

The fifth version featured corporations from throughout Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, together with Market AI, Juvison Enterprise, Wonderful Farm Gate, Elafagon Nigeria Restricted, Vickey Goshen Eco Farm, Yar Galadimas Enterprise Empire, Sehaj Vitality Useful resource, Mrs Muna Rice Defend, Triple A, Farm Field, Awari Olounge Omode, and All Inexperienced Ivy Restricted.

Talking through the pitch session, the Head of Alumni Relations and Help Providers and a member of the EDC Administration Board, Dr Nnena Ugwu, emphasised that the initiative goals to drive progressive options inside the agricultural sector whereas accelerating alternatives for younger feminine entrepreneurs.

She famous that whereas the programme was initially open to each male- and female-led agro-businesses, this version particularly focused feminine entrepreneurs as a result of comparatively low participation of girls in agriculture.

To encourage their involvement, the programme was designed to cater for his or her distinctive wants.

Contributors underwent numerous accelerator programmes, together with boot camps and mentoring classes, to equip them with enterprise assist and techniques for overcoming challenges inside the agricultural worth chain in Nigeria and past.

The Agro-Hack Problem, organised by EDC and GEN Nigeria in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, continues to empower and assist feminine entrepreneurs and SMEs, serving to them navigate the complexities of the agro sector whereas driving transformation and financial progress.
