Why I resigned as Speaker of Lagos Meeting – Meranda

Hon. Mojisola Meranda on Monday mentioned she resigned as Speaker of the Lagos State Home of Meeting, due to the necessity to protect the integrity of the legislature and stop additional disaster inside the Home.
Addressing lawmakers in the course of the plenary session in Alausa, Ikeja, Meranda described her choice as a “private sacrifice” aimed toward resolving the lingering management disaster within the Meeting.
“I’ve made a private sacrifice in the direction of resolving the management disaster rocking the Lagos State Home of Meeting,” she said, including that her household’s legacy in selling democracy, good governance, and repair remained her tenet.
Meranda, who was sworn in as Speaker on January 13, 2025, revealed that her resignation was fastidiously thought-about, as the continued disaster threatened the soundness of the legislative establishment.
