Anambra LP in disarray as faction holds parallel gov major

A faction of the Anambra State Chapter of the Labour Party has held a governorship major to elect the governorship candidate of the celebration for the November 8, 2025, governorship election.

Umenajiego polled 180 votes to defeat his rival, John Nwosu, who polled 69 votes.

He instantly introduced a member of the Anambra State Home of Meeting who represents Awka South 1, Henry Mbachu, as his working mate.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of INEC, Mrs Ugoma Lechukwu, described the contemporary LP major election as unfaithful, contending that the Fee was not conscious of any contemporary Labour Party major election.

The Labour Party has performed and concluded its major election and produced George Moghalu as its candidate, and we now have issued him with the Certificates of Return and different statutory supplies as candidate of the celebration,” she stated.
