Presidency apologises for errors in Tinubu’s appointments record, guarantees replace

The Presidency has apologised for the errors within the record of appointments made by President Bola Tinubu since Could 29, 2023.

PidomNigeria studies that the record was to counter the narrative about Tinubu’s alleged lopsided appointments, which was delivered to the general public by the Senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume.

In a latest interview with Come up Tv, Ndume, an All Progressives Congress lawmaker, accused the President of violating the federal character precept in his appointments, which the presidency denied.

To counter the allegation, the Particular Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, on Wednesday launched an inventory of Tinubu’s appointees and their geopolitical zones.

The record confirmed that the President had appointed 29 individuals from the South West, his house area, 35 from the North West, 22 from the South-South, 16 from the South East, 25 from North Central and 24 from the North East.

Nevertheless, the President’s critics have identified that the record was not complete, because the title of a significant appointee from the President’s house area was lacking.

The omission of the President’s Chief of Workers, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Comptroller Basic of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, amongst others, from the record additional strengthened the regional imbalance narrative towards Tinubu’s administration, because the record clearly confirmed that the South East is underrepresented in his authorities.

Because the doc sparked debate on social media, Dare took to his X deal with on Thursday to apologise for the errors within the record and promised to offer an up to date record later.

Nevertheless, the presidential spokesman didn’t clarify why Gbajabiamila’s title was omitted from the record.

“We now have seen a lot of errors within the record of appointments tweeted. We’re sorry. We’ll present an up to date record later. Thanks,” he wrote.
