Anyanwu rejects expulsion from PDP, slams Ibadan conference as ‘jamboree’

Factional Nationwide Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Samuel Anyanwu, has dismissed his expulsion from the celebration, describing the lately concluded nationwide conference in Ibadan, Oyo State, as a “jamboree.”

Anyanwu spoke on Channels Tv’s Sunday Politics hours after the PDP introduced his expulsion alongside different celebration chieftains.

He argued that the train was essentially flawed, claiming that many states weren’t represented.

He stated, “16 states had not even executed their congresses; your entire South-East has not executed theirs. All that occurred yesterday [Saturday] was a jamboree.”

Anyanwu additional famous that even earlier congresses had not been formally communicated to the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee.

“Even those executed earlier haven’t been communicated to INEC,” he stated.

He insisted that with a number of states absent, the conference, which lasted from Saturday into early Sunday, couldn’t be thought of all-inclusive.

“After I heard any person yesterday on the conference, after they had been celebrating, having their jamboree, saying that we should obey the foundations of the celebration, I laughed,” he added.

Addressing his expulsion, Anyanwu stated there was no professional foundation for it.

“I simply advised you that I used to be not expelled. Who expelled me? What platform have they got to expel me?” he requested.

Anyway stated the committee asserting his expulsion from the celebration lacked the authorized standing to take action.

“It is a committee headed by Tom Ikimi, which is saying that they’ve been dedicated to my suspension. It was not right now. I went to court docket. It’s a court docket judgment. It’s a court docket order.”

Till the announcement of his expulsion, Anyanwu served because the suspended nationwide secretary of the PDP.

PidomNigeria On-line had earlier reported that the PDP, at its 2025 Nationwide Conference in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday, expelled a number of high-profile members, together with Anyawu, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; former Nationwide Authorized Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu, amongst others over alleged anti-party actions.

The movement for his or her expulsion was moved by former PDP Deputy Nationwide Chairman (South), Bode George, and seconded by the Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Samaila Buga.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who chairs the PDP Governors’ Discussion board, later put the movement to a voice vote, which delegates overwhelmingly endorsed, signalling the celebration’s renewed resolve to confront inside dissent and stamp out anti-party conduct inside its ranks.
