The Particular Adviser on Media and Chief Press Secretary to the Oyo State Governor, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju has confessed that Oyo State Authorities acquired a sum of N30billion out of N50billion declare by former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose over the Bodija blast in 2024.

Dr Sulaimon made the revelation in his article titled: “Makinde: Reality Is Not a Casualty of Political Desperation”.

He described Fayose’s place that Governor Makinde is saving up cash for his presidential ambition as as deceptive. He clarified additional that;

The Federal Authorities didn’t give Governor Makinde ₦50 billion. For this reason Fayose was unable to offer proof to indicate the disbursement when requested to take action. The truth is, the memo he shared reveals what was not disbursed.

The Federal Authorities didn’t give Governor Makinde ₦50 billion. For this reason Fayose was unable to offer proof to indicate the disbursement when requested to take action.

What exists on report is a request and a promise, not a disbursement of ₦50 billion.

Within the quick aftermath of the tragic January 2024 Bodija explosion, which claimed lives, destroyed properties, and traumatised a whole group, President Bola Tinubu didn’t go to Oyo State. Governor Makinde travelled to Abuja personally, armed with a complete report of the incident and a proper request for help from the Federal Authorities. Following that engagement, the Federal Authorities promised a ₦50 billion help bundle.
A promise, nonetheless, shouldn’t be a launch.

When it was time to behave, solely ₦30 billion was launched. For causes past the remit of this piece, the remaining ₦20 billion was withheld.

Was the Governor anticipated to convene a press convention to announce that the Federal Authorities had promised ₦50 billion, launched ₦30 billion, and was withholding ₦20 billion? Or to publicly litigate negotiations round a nationwide tragedy?

What issues is what was performed with the funds that have been launched.
