Kano commissioner resigns, says govt has derailed

A Kano State Commissioner, Yusuf Kofarmata, has resigned his appointment as a member of the State Govt Council, citing what he described as a deviation from the political ideology that introduced the present administration to energy.

Kofarmata introduced his resignation in a press release on Sunday, saying the choice was taken in good religion and guided by conscience.

“I hereby resign my appointment as commissioner and member of the Kano State Govt Council. I can not proceed to work beneath a authorities that has derailed from the ideology that introduced it to energy,” he stated.

The previous commissioner, who served within the Ministry of Tertiary Schooling in addition to the Ministry of Science, Expertise and Innovation, thanked the management of the New Nigeria Folks’s Party and key political figures for the chance to serve.
