Plateau gov formally dumps PDP

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party.

In a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of his Ampang West Ward, Dasjak Sunday Longyol, and dated December 29, 2025, the governor cited the necessity for another political platform to higher serve the state as the explanation for quitting the social gathering.

The letter, obtained by our correspondent in Jos, the state capital, on Thursday, expressed the governor’s gratitude to the social gathering for offering him a platform to take part within the democratic course of.

Mutfwang defined that his choice was guided by his dedication to purposeful management, readability of course, and repair supply.

The letter, which Mutfwang personally signed, learn, “I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party with quick impact.

“I sincerely respect the PDP for offering me the political platform to take part within the democratic course of.

Nevertheless, the letter didn’t disclose which social gathering the governor had joined.

The governor’s resignation comes after months of hypothesis, with Mutfwang reportedly becoming a member of the All Progressives Congress.

The Nationwide Working Committee of the APC has welcomed him, with social gathering officers pledging help for his new political journey.
