FULL LIST: APC wins 5 FCT councils, PDP one

The All Progressives Congress has secured victory in 5 of the six chairmanship seats contested within the Federal Capital Territory Space Council elections, whereas the Peoples Democratic Party received the remaining seat.
Outcomes declared by the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee on Sunday confirmed that the APC received the Abuja Municipal Space Council, Abaji, Bwari, Kwali, and Kuje Space Councils, whereas the PDP emerged victorious in Gwagwalada Space Council.
In Gwagwalada Space Council, the PDP candidate, Mohammed Kasim, was declared winner after polling 22,165 votes to defeat the APC candidate, Yahaya Shehu, who secured 17,788 votes.
Saying the outcome, the Returning Officer, Philip Akpen, stated, “I’m the returning officer for the 2026 FCT Space Council, Gwagwalada chairmanship election held on February 21, 2026. That Mohammed Kasim of the PDP, having glad the necessities of the legislation, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
A breakdown of the outcomes confirmed:
•PDP – 22,165
•APC – 17,788
•APGA – 1,687
•ADC – 1,366
Kasim of the PDP was declared winner, having polled the best variety of votes.
In Bwari Space Council, Joshua Ishaku of the APC emerged winner with 18,466 votes.
“I’m the returning officer for the 2026 FCT Space Council, Bwari chairmanship election held on Feb. 21, 2026. That Joshua Ishaku, having glad the necessities of the legislation, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” the Returning Officer, Mohammed Nurudeen, introduced.
INEC figures confirmed:
•APC – 18,466
•ADC – 4,254
•ZLP – 3,515
Ishaku of the APC was returned elected.
Within the Abuja Municipal Space Council, Christopher Maikalangu of the APC was re-elected after polling 40,295 votes.
“That Maikalangu of the APC, having glad the necessities of the legislation, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” the AMAC Collation Officer, Andrew Abue, stated.
Outcomes launched by the fee indicated:
•APC – 40,295
•ADC – 12,109
•SDP – 2,185
•NNPP – 1,694
•PDP – 3,398
Maikalangu of the APC secured the best votes.
In Abaji Space Council, Umar Abdullahi Abubakar of the APC received the chairmanship election.

•APC – 15,536
•PDP – 4,547
•ADC – 37
Abubakar of the APC was declared winner.
In Kwali Space Council, the APC candidate, Nuhu Daniel, polled 17,032 votes to defeat the PDP candidate, Haruna Pai, who secured 8,575 votes. Daniel of the APC was returned elected.

- PDP – 8,575
Daniel of the APC was declared winner.
In Kuje Space Council, APC candidate Danjuma Shekwolo received the chairmanship after polling 17,269 votes.
