A house help poisoned our pot of food 8 days after resuming work – Nigerian woman narrates

A Nigerian woman, Amy George, has narrated how her house help was caught on camera adding a poisonous substance to her family’s pot of food.

Amy, who shared the story in a Facebook post on Thursday, March 26, 2026, said the incident occurred 8 days after the girl resumed work.

According to her, when confronted, the girl claimed that the substance she added to the food wasn’t poison but “talk and do” 

The girl further claimed that her uncle gave her the substance so that the family would do whatever she told them.  

“Yes, a house help once poisoned my family. I got my first house help when I gave birth to sugar baby. 8 days  after she was employed, she poisoned our food. I put food on fire, it was steaming while i went to the sitting room to rest,” she wrote.

 

“Zaddy saw something from the camera and alerted me. I walked to the kitchen, by the door looking. She closed the lid. I walked in like Iwasn’t there. 

 

“Took the food down. Asked her to eat, that was it. 

 

“My aunty got her for us. lol. Her name was Dorcas, from Jos. She was 20 or 23. 

 

“When she was queried. She said it’s not a poison to ki!!!. It was talk and do or whatever she called it. Her uncle gave it to her so that whatever she tells us to do, we do.

 

“Sugar baby’s godmother was whom helped us that period. It took us time to get over it. 

 

“She watched over Sugar baby every day until we got over that trauma.”
