Boy, 14, raped by man while being ‘held captive in his house for 4 days’

A teenage boy was allegedly raped by a man who held him captive in his home for four days. A suspect has been arrested while a police investigation is launched.

Local police said the victim, 14, was lured to a man’s home before being raped “several times” earlier this year. He was reported missing by his father on Wednesday, January 28 before officers launched a search. A 47-year-old suspect, identified as Aminu Suleiman, has since been arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping and rape which took place in the city of Jos in Nigeria.

Police have since confirmed that Suleiman will be “charged to court upon conclusion of our investigation”. They are continuing to carry enquiries into what happened.

As reported by The Nation, a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner of Police (CP) said: “We received a report that on 28/01/2026, the complainant came back home and found out that his 14 years old son was missing.”

The commissioner added that Suleiman, 47, was arrested after being reported by the teenage victim. He reportedly raped the boy “several times”‘

The commissioner explained: “When he was eventually found four days later, his son informed him that it was one Aminu Suleiman, male, 47 years old, who lured him and had anal sex with him several times. The suspect has since been arrested and will be charged to court upon conclusion of our investigation.”

Jos, known as J-Town, is a city in the north central region of Nigeria. It has a population of around 900,000 people and is the administrative capital and largest city of Plateau State.

The UK government currently advises against all or non-essential travel to parts of Nigeria including Plateua State. The Foreign Office cites risks of terrorism, kidnapping, and communal clashes.
