Delta gov’s aide resigns forward of elections

An Govt Assistant to Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, Olorogun Samson, has resigned his appointment forward of the 2027 normal elections.
In a resignation letter dated March 2, 2026 and uploaded on his deal with on Wednesday, the aide mentioned his resolution adopted consultations and the necessity to absolutely pursue his ambition to symbolize Ughelli South Constituency within the Delta State Home of Meeting.

Samson described his time within the administration as a privilege, appreciating the governor for the chance to serve and for the management classes gained.

The event comes days after Oborevwori directed all political appointees meaning to contest elective positions within the 2027 normal elections to resign on or earlier than March 31, 2026.
The directive, disclosed in an announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Authorities, Kingsley Eze Emu, mentioned the transfer was according to Part 88(1) of the Electoral Act, 2026, and the timetable issued by the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee for celebration primaries.
