Donald Trump claims Iran 'begging' for deal, asks it to 'get serious soon, before it is too late'

US President Donald Trump, on Thursday, March 26, made a strong statement regarding ongoing tensions with Iran, claiming that Tehran is desperate to make a deal.

In a post on Truth Social, he told Iran to “get serious soon” about a peace deal with Washington, a day after Tehran rejected his 15-point peace plan.

In his post, further, Trump described Iranian negotiators as ‘very different’ and ‘strange,’ claiming that they are effectively ‘begging’ the United States to reach a deal.
He asserted that Iran has been ‘militarily obliterated’ and has “zero chance of a comeback.” However, Trump criticised Iran’s public stance, stating that its leaders claim they are only ‘looking’ at the US proposal.
He dismissed this as incorrect, emphasising that Iran needs to take negotiations seriously and act quickly. The President further warned that time is running out, adding that if Iran fails to act soon, the situation could reach a point of no return.

“They’d better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty!” he added.

The post comes after the US sent Iran a 15-point plan aimed at bringing the US-Israeli war on Iran to an end. In a conversation with Al Jazeera, a source stated that Tehran described the proposal as “extremely maximalist and unreasonable”.

Calling it deceptive and misleading in its presentation, the source further said, “It is not beautiful, even on paper.”

The statements follow as Trump claims, despite Iranian denials, that negotiations between Washington and Tehran are underway to end the nearly one-month war.

Later, on Wednesday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also stated that no negotiations are taking place between the two nations. He added that the US is sending messages through different mediators, which “does not mean negotiations with the US.”
