Easter: Alia declares one week public holiday in Benue

Governor Hyacinth Alia on Tuesday declared a one-week Easter holiday for all public and civil servants in the state.
This was contained in a circular signed by Godwin Tighil, Permanent Secretary, General Services, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government and made available to newsmen in Makurdi.
According to the circular, the holiday would take effect on 31st March by 1pm, and work would resume April 8.
“However, those on essential services are directed to remain at their duty posts to attend to issues of human and urgent public interests,” it said.
Alia, in the circular, wished Benue people happy holidays and urged them to continue to pray for the peace of the state and the nation.
