Fuel Stations Reduce Petrol Prices After NNPCL, Dangote Reductions

Several filling stations across Nigeria have reduced the pump price of petrol following recent price cuts by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPPCL) and the Dangote Refinery.

The reductions were observed at major retail outlets in Abuja on Tuesday, with prices dropping significantly from the previous rates.

Checks By Daily Post showed that filling stations operated by Mobil, NIPCO, AP Ardova, and Eterna have reduced their pump prices to between ₦1,280 and ₦1,296 per litre.

The new rates represent a drop from earlier prices of between ₦1,370 and ₦1,390 per litre. This indicates a reduction of about ₦90 to ₦94 per litre across the affected outlets.

The development comes less than 24 hours after the NNPC reduced its petrol pump price to ₦1,295 per litre, down from ₦1,361 per litre.

The adjustment by the national oil company has triggered a corresponding response from independent marketers and major filling stations.

Last Friday, Dangote Refinery announced a reduction in its petrol gantry price by ₦85, bringing it down to ₦1,200 per litre.

The refinery had earlier increased petrol prices several times in March 2026 due to volatility in global crude oil prices linked to tensions in the Middle East involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

The latest reductions are expected to influence petrol pricing across the country as marketers adjust to the new supply costs.
