Iran Israel War Live Updates: Ghalibaf says US strike pause won’t weaken Iran’s military readiness
Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf said a pause in US strikes does not mean Iran will scale back its military preparedness, stressing that the country remains fully ready despite the temporary halt.
In a message addressed to the Iranian public, Ghalibaf described the reported pause in American attacks as a “strategic retreat disguised as diplomacy,” arguing that it came after mounting military and economic costs for Washington.
He said the Majlis, in coordination with the Supreme National Security Council, has begun a detailed technical and political review of a reported 15-point diplomatic proposal delivered to Iran through Pakistan.
However, Ghalibaf emphasized that any pause in hostilities would not affect Iran’s defense posture.
“A pause in American strikes is not a pause in Iranian readiness,” he said, adding that the country’s defense systems remain active and its resolve unchanged.
He also reiterated that Iran would reject any proposal requiring it to dismantle its scientific infrastructure or abandon its missile capabilities, calling them essential to national security.
Iran, he added, remains open to genuine diplomacy but will respond firmly to any attempt to pressure the country into concessions.
