Iran strikes Kuwait power station k!lling one Indian worker

An Iranian strike on a power facility in Kuwait has killed one Indian worker and caused significant damage, authorities in the Gulf state said.

A spokesperson for Kuwait’s electricity ministry, Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat, confirmed the incident in a statement.

“A service building at a power and water desalination plant was attacked as part of the Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait, resulting in the death of an Indian worker and significant material damage to the building,” she said. The attack marks a further escalation in regional tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

Meanwhile, in Israel, lawmakers have approved the country’s 2026 national budget, including a substantial increase in defence spending as military operations continue.

The Knesset passed the budget with 62 votes in favour and 55 against, narrowly avoiding a government collapse that would have been triggered by failure to approve the measure before the end of March. According to a statement, total expenditure for 2026 is projected at around 850 billion shekels (approximately $270 billion), with more than 30 billion shekels added to defence spending.

“As part of the updated budget, and in light of Operation ‘Roaring Lion’, more than NIS 30 billion (about $10 billion) has been added to the Ministry of Defence budget, bringing it to over NIS 142 billion,” the statement said. The developments underscore rising instability across the region, with both military escalation and economic responses unfolding simultaneously.
