Israel sets ‘clear red lines’ for Iran, says operations continue amid ongoing talks

Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Israel’s Ambassador to India Reuven Azar said the country has “clear red lines” that have already been communicated to Tehran. These include halting Iran’s nuclear programme and discontinuing its ballistic missile capabilities.
The envoy said Israel’s operation against Iran is continuing “with full intensity,” underscoring that military action remains active despite parallel diplomatic engagement.
He added that negotiations and military operations can proceed simultaneously. “It is possible to have talks during fighting—we are proving it as we speak,” he said, indicating that backchannel or indirect discussions are ongoing even as the conflict persists.
On the role of the United States, the ambassador said Iran should be aware of the potential consequences of non-cooperation, suggesting that the presence of US forces serves as a deterrent.
The remarks come amid continued hostilities between Iran and Israel, with little sign of an immediate breakthrough despite diplomatic efforts.
