It was scary, unfair and humiliating – Nigerian lady recalls when Chinese landlord told them to vacate his apartment because he doesn’t want black people

A Nigerian lady, Nwokoye Lynda, has recalled when a Chinese landlord told her and other tenants to vacate his apartment in China without prior notice, saying he didn’t want a black person.
.....
Nwokoye, who disclosed this in a Facebook post two days ago described the incident as scary, unfair, and humiliating.
According to Nwokoye, the landlord refused to refund their house deposit of 7,000 RMB and called the police
on them.
At the police station, they pleaded for more time and the landlord grudgingly agreed to let them stay for that night and leave the next day.
Nwokoye also revealed that they were not allowed to use the swimming pool in another apartment complex they lived.
According to her, all attempts to make use of the pool were met with excuses and laughter.
“I still can’t forget this. One evening in China, our landlord just comes, and says he doesn’t want a black person staying in his apartment. Then he calls the police and says we have to leave, that same night,” she wrote.
Here’s the thing, before you pay for an apartment in China, you sign an agreement and pay upfront, two months deposit and one month rent.
Our landlord was holding our deposit of almost 7,000 RMB and refused to give it back and the police did nothing.
Imagine us sitting at the police station until 3 a.m., trying to sort things out. We were begging, explaining, trying everything.
At the end, he finally said we could stay for just that night and leave at least 12noon the next day but only if we pay a fee. Initially 400 RMB, we ended up paying 250 RMB.
Honestly, it was scary, unfair, and humiliating. But we survived.
Till today, we didn’t get our house deposit back. Even after the police assured us they would help.
Remembering this today, and I’m angry all over again!!!
