Just in: Senate passes N68t 2026 budget

Following its final consideration, the Senate has passed a N68 trillion budget for the 2026 fiscal year, increasing the initial proposal by N9 trillion from N58 trillion.
The budget breakdown includes N=4,799,628,911,806 for statutory transfers, N=15,809,361,631,657 for debt service, and N=15,427,257,802,407 for recurrent (non-debt) expenditure, while the sum of N=32,287,061,472,797 is for contribution to the development fund for capital expenditure for the year ending on the 31st day of December, 2026.
