‘Keep Crying!’ – Fani-Kayode Speaks On Germany Rejecting Him As Ambassador

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has denied a report claiming that the German government rejected his ambassadorial posting.
.....
The former minister was reacting to a report published on Monday which alleged that Germany declined his appointment over controversial past remarks.
An online media platform had reported that the German authorities rejected Fani-Kayode’s nomination on March 13, 2026, citing concerns over his alleged past statements.
According to the report, the German government raised concerns about what it described as “erratic behaviour” and controversial comments allegedly made by the former minister.
The report also quoted an unnamed administration official as saying that Fani-Kayode could be redeployed as ambassador to South Africa.
Reacting to the report, Fani-Kayode dismissed the claim as false, accusing opposition figures of spreading misinformation to undermine his appointment.
In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, he described the report as fake news.
“Fake news everywhere. These opposition elements are so pained by my appointment, and they are doing everything to discredit me and scuttle it,” he wrote.
The former minister insisted that attempts to undermine his nomination would not stop him from serving the country.
“Whether they like it or not, I will serve my country! Keep crying!” he added.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had earlier approved Fani-Kayode’s nomination as an ambassador-designate to the Central European country.
