LP postpones congresses, units up 46-man conference panel

The Labour Party on Tuesday postponed its ward, native authorities, and state congresses, in addition to its nationwide conference earlier scheduled to start on Thursday, March 26, 2026, citing the necessity to permit broader participation in its ongoing membership re-registration train.

This was disclosed in an announcement issued in Abuja by the Senior Particular Adviser on Media to the Interim Nationwide Chairman, Ken Asogwa.

The event marks a shift from the celebration’s earlier timetable, which had slated ward congresses for March 26, adopted by native authorities congresses on March 28, state congresses on March 31, and the nationwide conference on April 11, 2026.

In accordance with the assertion, the choice was reached after a mixed stakeholders’ assembly involving members of the Interim Nationwide Working Committee and representatives of labour unions.

“The postponement was aimed toward offering ample alternative for members and potential members to take part totally within the ongoing membership re-registration train.

Whereas inaugurating the committee, the Nationwide Chairman of the celebration, Senator Nenadi Usman, charged members to discharge their duties with utmost diligence, impartiality, and dedication.
