Moment when Iranian missile hits Israel's Dimona; several injured | Video

Several people were injured after an Iranian ballistic missile struck the southern Israeli town of Dimona, known for housing a key nuclear facility, according to rescue services.

The missile hit a community building, causing nearby older homes to collapse due to the impact. A local resident said most people were in shelters at the time, limiting injuries, though a young boy who was outside was among the more seriously affected.

The Israel Defense Forces said it is investigating why its air defence systems failed to intercept the missile. According to the military, interceptors were deployed but did not succeed in neutralising the threat.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) urged “maximum military restraint” following the strike. The agency said it has no indication of damage to the Negev nuclear research centre in Dimona.

Iran said the strike was carried out in response to an earlier attack on the Natanz nuclear facility. However, the IDF denied responsibility for any strike on Natanz earlier in the day.
