A South African woman, Leeh Setlholoeng-Mojakgolo, has marked six year since her young daughter, Boineelo Fortunate, committed su!cide.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, March 28, 2026, she recalled the moment she found her daughter’s lifeless body hanging on a tree.

According to Leeh, the tragic incident and profound loss led to her being taken to a psychiatric hospital. 

“Me V.S the girl who sent me straight to psychiatric hospital after finding her lifeless body hanging on a tree,” she wrote.

“A girl who taught me how to love another human being more than myself. A girl who called me Mom.

“It’s been six years, Nana and I have days where I cry my lungs out because what transpired that day has erased most beautiful memories we shared.

“When I think of you, I only think of that horrible day. I imagine the pain you endured as tiny as you where when taking your own life! 

“I still remember when I tried to resuscitate you single handedly because I had a cast on my left arm. Maar retlare what? I love you still, Boineelo Fortunate.”
