Wike, Saraki, other leaders arrive Abuja PDP national convention venue

Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and other Peoples Democratic Party leaders have arrived at the Velodrome, Moshood Abiola International Stadium, Abuja venue of the ongoing party’s 2026 national convention.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the minister arrived at about 7.25 p.m. in company of some party leaders, including the Chairman of the National Caretaker Working Committee of Wike’s faction, Abdulraman Mohammed and the Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa.
Others were the Chairman, 2026 National Convention Planning and Organising Committee (NPCOC), Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and the NCWC National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu.
A former Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki, the Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Abba Moro and the Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda are also at the venue.
NAN reports that upon the minister’s arrival, the National Anthem was immediately rendered, signalling the official commencement of the day’s proceedings.
Already seated are delegated from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.
