2027: Ogun APC holds caucus meeting Monday

The Ogun State caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress has been scheduled to hold on Monday at 4 p.m. at the party secretariat in Abeokuta.
The meeting, according to a statement signed by the state party chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, and made available to journalists on Sunday, is being convened to strengthen party unity, review current political developments, and chart a forward-looking course for the party in the state.
A chieftain of the party who pleaded anonymity said that “the meeting majorly is to look at the modalities for picking the candidates for the party for the 2027 election.
“The party will examine its push for consensus in some areas and the possibility of direct primaries, too. It is just to ensure that everyone is on the same page”
The statement stated that “The Ogun State Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a strategic meeting scheduled to hold on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Party Secretariat in Abeokuta.
“The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen party unity, review current political developments, and chart a forward-looking course for the party in the state.
“Attendance at the meeting is strictly limited to State Caucus members as recognised by the Party’s Constitution, Section 12: 1.0”
Those invited to the meeting include the state party chairman, past state chairmen of the party, serving and past state deputy chairmen, serving and past state secretaries, serving and past state governors and deputy governors, current gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates of the party, as well as serving and past members of the National Assembly.
Others are the principal officers of the State House of Assembly, members of the State House of Assembly, the Secretary to the State Government, the State Woman Leader, the State Youth Leader, the State Leader of Persons Living with Disabilities, and the State Legal Adviser.
Also invited to the meeting are past Speakers and Deputy Speakers, all members of the National and Zonal Executive Committees from the state, all National Caucus members from the state, as well as six women (two from each senatorial district).
