2027: Yusuf Buhari declares interest in house of reps seat

Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has declared his intention to contest for a seat in the house of representatives in the 2027 general election.
The development was confirmed by Bashir Ahmad, a former special assistant on digital communications to the late president, following growing speculation on social media over Yusuf’s political ambition.
In a letter dated April 3 and addressed to stakeholders, Yusuf reportedly announced his decision to vie for the federal legislative seat representing Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I am extremely delighted to inform you of my intention to contest for this position, as I aim to contribute to good leadership and bring development to our people,” the letter read.
In a post on his X page, Ahmad confirmed the development, noting that the decision followed extensive consultations with stakeholders.
“Following wide consultations, Yusuf Buhari, the son of our late boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, has informed stakeholders of his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua constituency under the All Progressives Congress,” he wrote.
