ADC blames APC for crumbling opposition parties in Nigeria

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of orchestrating internal crises within opposition parties. 

In a statement issued by Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s national publicity secretary, the ADC alleged that recent tensions within opposition ranks were being wrongly attributed to internal weaknesses, rather than external manipulation.

Abdullahi, writing on his official X handle, claimed that even “a single whiff of speculation” was enough to trigger factional disputes within previously stable political structures.

He said, “It took only a single whiff of speculation for a faction to emerge almost overnight in what had been a historically tranquil political party.”

The ADC spokesperson argued that such developments reflect a “troubling pattern” under the APC-led administration, which he accused of undermining opposition unity ahead of future elections.

The party also pointed to reported tensions within the Peoples Redemption Party as further evidence of political interference, though no concrete proof was provided to substantiate the claims.

However, the APC has dismissed the allegations, insisting that opposition parties are struggling due to internal disagreements and leadership failures rather than external sabotage.
