The Welfare Secretary of the Kano State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bashir Maisango, has resigned from the party, and is poised to join the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Mr Maisango, who previously served as Assistant Secretary of the party, is an influential party leader and grassroots mobiliser in Kano.

In the letter titled “Voluntary Resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC)” and addressed to the state chairman of the party, he expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunities he had during his time as a member.

“I, Bashir Tijjani Maisango, hereby voluntarily resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective April 1, 2026.

“I appreciate the opportunities the party has given me and wish the APC well,” he stated.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that Mr Maisango resigned in solidarity with former deputy governor of the state Nasiru Gawuna, who dumped the ruling party on March 30.

Sources close to the former Kano APC Welfare Secretary said he is expected to register with the ADC at his Dakata Ward in Kano.
