Air chief praises troops, highlights security gains in Katsina

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has praised frontline troops for their dedication and highlighted ongoing security gains in Katsina State.

According to a post obtained from NAF’s X handle on Monday, Aneke gave the commendation on Sunday, while celebrating Easter with personnel of the Nigerian Air Force deployed under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector.

Represented by the Chief of Training at NAF Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal AY Dari, the CAS reaffirmed the force’s commitment to personnel welfare, operational excellence, and mission success.

“Your bravery, resilience, and sacrifices are delivering tangible results in our fight against terrorism and banditry.

“Your professionalism and dedication have contributed significantly to restoring peace in the North-West,” the CAS said.

Earlier, the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Idris, described the Easter visit as a morale booster for personnel operating under challenging conditions.

He commended the CAS for his people-centred leadership style and reaffirmed the command’s resolve to maintain the current operational momentum in collaboration with other security agencies.

Also speaking, the Joint Task Force Air Component Commander for Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 2, Air Commodore CE Illoh, appreciated the CAS for his continued support to frontline troops.

He said the visit had further strengthened the resolve of personnel to intensify operations against criminal elements threatening peace in the region.

The Easter gathering provided an opportunity for reflection and unity among personnel, who reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and ensuring lasting peace.
