Aiyedatiwa, Abiodun pay tributes as BOA MD buries father

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Agriculture, Ayo Sotinrin, on Friday laid his father, David Sotinrin, to rest in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Dignitaries from across the country attended the burial, including the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; and his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun, among other notable Nigerians.

The funeral service, held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, was attended by family members, friends, and associates of the BOA MD, filling the church to capacity.

In his remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the late Sotinrin as a man who lived a fulfilled life marked by impact, faith, and devotion to family. He noted that his 85 years on earth reflected divine grace and added that these virtues were evident in his son, Ayo, whom he described as resilient and grounded in faith.

He also referenced tributes by the deceased’s wife, Falake, which, according to him, portrayed the late engineer as a loving husband and dedicated family man whose life was anchored on peace and humility.

Similarly, Governor Abiodun paid tribute, describing the deceased as a man who lived an exemplary and impactful life. He urged the family to uphold the values of selflessness and service that he represented, noting that such a legacy should guide future generations.

In an emotional tribute, the son of the deceased described his father as “an exceptional man who lived a life worthy of remembrance,” adding that he was highly accomplished in engineering and intellectually outstanding.

“He was a family man. He loved us dearly. He loved my mother and the entire Sotinrin family. He placed a high value on education and ensured we attended the best schools and universities.

“For me, I am emulating the good life he lived—his kindness, his love for people, and, most importantly, his love for God. I thank God that he was my father. He is gone, but his memories live on, and he will be remembered for a very long time,” he said.
