Alaafin Oyo is one of rallying points for Yoruba people – Gani Adams

Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has described the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade 1, as one of the beacons of hope and unity for the Yoruba people.

Iba Adams said this while congratulating His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owoade on the occasion of his first year coronation anniversary.

In a statement on Tuesday, Adams said the milestone marked a significant year of dedicated leadership, cultural preservation, and the promotion of Yoruba heritage.

Oba Owoade 1 was crowned the 46th Alaafin of Oyo on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at a coronation ceremony that took place at Oliveth Baptist High School, Oyo, following the completion of his traditional rites and the receipt of his staff of office on January 13, 2025.
