Alumni president donates solar inverter to Ado-Ekiti poly

The President, Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti Alumni Association, AbdulRafiu Badru, has donated a solar inverter system to the Senior Staff Club of the institution.
The alumni president, represented by FEDPAAA National Publicity Secretary, Busayo Adeyemi, at the inauguration on Monday, said the initiative was part of efforts to improve the school’s working environment through sustainable energy solutions.
He said, “This initiative demonstrates our commitment to supporting the institution and enhancing staff welfare. This would serve as an alternative power supply source.”
The Rector of the institution, Dr Temitope Alake, said the solar installation will significantly reduce dependence on unstable public power supply and lower operational costs.
Alake appealed for the establishment of a well-equipped mini mart around the Annex Hostel area, which he proposed should be jointly managed by the Alumni Association and the Polytechnic management.
He said such joint management would ensure efficiency and sustainability, and better serve the needs of students and staff.
In his remarks, the President of the Senior Staff Club, Olaniyi Adeboye, noted that the solar inverter system would greatly enhance the club’s operations and provide a more conducive environment for members.
“This project is timely and impactful,” he added.
The commissioning ceremony attracted staff, alumni and other stakeholders and featured the official unveiling and inspection of the solar installation.
