APC extends sale of forms, submission deadline for 2027 primaries

By Omeiza Ajayi
The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has extended the deadlines for the sale and submission of expression of interest and nomination forms for its 2027 general election primaries, citing the public holiday observed on Friday and an unusually high volume of interest from aspirants.
The party’s National Working Committee NWC, which met Thursday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, approved the new timelines.
Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Durosinmi Meseko, announced the decision after the meeting.
He said under the revised schedule, the sale of forms will now close at midnight on Monday, May 4, 2026, while aspirants will have until midnight on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, to submit completed forms alongside all required documents.
The original timetable had set Saturday, May 2, 2026, as the closing date for form sales, with Monday, May 4, 2026, as the final day for submission of completed forms.
Meseko said the extension became necessary to accommodate both the disruption caused by Friday’s public holiday and the level of demand from intending aspirants across the country.
