BREAKING: Fire Destroys Nigerian Breweries' Property In Aba

Some property at the Nigerian Breweries in Aba, Abia State, has been destroyed by a late-afternoon fire. Residents in the vicinity were confused as they struggled to put out the fire on Thursday after it spread to some nearby property near the Nigerian Railways station.
But the arrival of Abia State Fire Service and other emergency agencies brought the situation under control as the officials prevented the fire from razing more properties. Though the cause of the inferno is not yet known, Abia State government said it is gathering necessary information about the development.
In a statement, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Alex Otti’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, advised the locals to ignore any fresh footage that was presented as a live report.
Ekeoma said, “This is to inform the general public that the fire outbreak that occurred at the Nigerian Breweries facility this afternoon, which also spread to other facilities within the vicinity and raged for some hours, has finally been successfully contained by the Abia State Emergency Services and other supporting agencies.”
