Ex-lawmaker Shehu Sani gives fresh advice to Nigerian youths ahead of 2027 elections

A former lawmaker, Shehu Sani has taken to his social media page to advise young Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the Nigerian Senate called on youths to get involved in local politics.
In a public letter, the former lawmaker reminded young Nigerians of the congresses conducted by various political parties across the wards and states of the country.
Expressing worry that the young people are not participating in these congresses, Sani said the children of politicians are already a step ahead by taking part in grassroots political activities.
He said, “Dear Young man, the party congresses are going on in your ward, you are not participating and you don’t even know the names of your ward Excos. Your mates and younger ones are gearing up to contest the coming elections and you are not aspiring.
“The Children of the leaders you are supporting are all making moves to contest the coming elections. You may have to move from supporting the fathers to supporting the Children, and later grandchildren,” Sani said.
Calling on young people to take risks and be in charge of their future, Sani said that people cannot continue to vent their displeasure with the current situation of the country on social media.
“You are angry and wailing on Social Media about bad governance and bad leaders, and you are not getting younger.
“Don’t spend the rest of your life raising a placard at Unity Fountain Abuja, when you can also be a leader.
“When will you be a player and not a perpetual Spectator? The difference between you and those in power is that they took the risk and jumped into the muddy ring and you are afraid of taking that risk,” he added.
