FG launches 2026 Build-A-Thon holiday camp for students

The federal government has announced the return of its Build-A-Thon Holiday Camp, targeting young Nigerians between the ages of 10 and 18.

The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy confirmed the development in a notice posted on its X handle on Tuesday.

It called on parents and guardians to register their wards for the programme, which is designed to equip participants with digital and problem-solving skills.

“The Build-A-Thon Holiday Camp is back!

“If you’re a parent or guardian looking to give your child a head start in the digital world, now is the time.

“Register your ward today and set them on the path to innovation,” the ministry stated.

According to the notice, the five-day programme will hold from April 20 to April 24, 2026, and will introduce participants to coding, hardware and the Internet of Things.

The ministry said the camp would feature hands-on training in robotics, coding and problem-solving through interactive learning sessions.

It added that the programme would take place across multiple locations, including Enugu, Lagos, Ogun, the Federal Capital Territory, Delta and Kano.

Parents and guardians were urged to complete an online form to confirm participation.

The registration can be found on the ministry’s X handle.

Launched by the FMCIDE, the camp provides free or low-barrier access to technology training, including DIY kits, workshops, and interactive sessions led by experts.

It targets both junior and senior secondary school students, aiming to bridge the digital skills gap from an early age.
