Gov. Sani’s road project to Federal University, Kachia nears completion — KADRA

The Kaduna State Roads Agency, KADRA, has announced significant progress on the construction of the access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, with the project now at an advanced stage.

In a project update, the agency said the stone base phase has been completed, paving the way for the application of MC1 (prime coat), a key step that prepares the surface for asphalt laying.

“With stone base works now fully completed, the project has progressed to the application of MC1 on the access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia,” the statement said.

KADRA described the project as a strategic intervention by the Kaduna State Government under Governor Uba Sani, aimed at supporting the federal institution and improving connectivity in the area.

According to the agency, the ongoing priming stage signals the imminent commencement of asphalt laying, bringing the project closer to completion and ensuring a durable road for the university community and surrounding areas.

It added that, upon completion, the road will significantly ease transportation for students, staff, and residents, while boosting local commerce and development.

Mr Sani had in July 2025 pledged to provide essential infrastructure, including access roads, to support the smooth take-off of the institution.

Observers say the project reflects the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, particularly in enhancing education and rural connectivity.

They noted that improved access to the university would not only support academic activities but also position the institution as a hub for innovation and economic growth in Southern Kaduna.

Residents and stakeholders have also commended the pace and quality of work, expressing optimism that timely completion will unlock greater opportunities in the area.
