Governor Alia receives traditional blessing

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has once again received royal blessings from custodians of tradition from his Jercira political bloc of Benue State with a charge to go all out and do the people of the area proud by continuing delivering for the state. 

This happened during the maiden Jechira Day celebration in Vandeikya with the theme: “Jechira: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.”
The traditional rulers led by the First Class Chief of the area, His Royal Highness, Engr. Edward Ujege disclosed that the blessings have become necessary to demonstrate to the entire world that the people of the area are satisfied with the strides the Governor is making in the state and are ready to support him to continue beyond 2027.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Alia described the event as a significant milestone in the history of the area, expressing gratitude to the people for their unity and tunout.
He acknowledged the blessings conferred on him by traditional rulers, describing it as a source of spiritual strength as he continues to serve the state.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive development, particularly in agriculture, youth empowerment, and cooperative enterprise. He urged Jechira sons and daughters to remain united and support the Jechira Development Association in driving grassroots development initiatives.
Highlighting his agricultural reforms, Alia reiterated his call for the establishment of Young Farmers Clubs across local governments to engage youths productively, and further announced plans to sustain fertilizer subsidies and pledged the distribution of four trailers of fertilizer to farmers across Jechira to boost productivity in the coming planting season. 

He also stressed the need for continued support for his administration, the ruling party, and the federal government.
